On January 14, 2014, I started making a Photo-A-Day and emailing each day's photo to a small group of friends. I started the project because a photographer friend had done a similar project in 2013 and the results were amazing. The collection of photos that she had at the end of the year were beautiful and varied and were evidence of her development as a fine art photographer. The ground rules that I set for the project are that the photos are not to be just snapshots but photos that I have thought about and worked on some. They may not qualify to be offered for sale because of the subject matter, but they should be of similar quality as photos I would sell. The objective was to force myself to shoot every day and thereby expand my horizons as a photographer and improve my skills. In practice, it is difficult to shoot EVERY day; life gets in the way. But I shoot about 9 out of 10 days and I publish a photo every day. I will post many but not all of them in this blog along with the notes I email with them. If you want to see each day's shot, send me an email and I'll add you to the list.
